dinaṃ catuḥṣaṣṭi-lavônam āhus tithiṃ yuśabdāntyam ahas tu sarvam | triṣaṣṭibhāgena yutaṃ sahasraṃ yuge 'vamānām apasaptaṣaṭkam |5|
‘They say that a day minus 1/64th is a tithi whereas a whole (day) is (a tithi) plus 1/63rd. The omitted (tithis) in a yuga are 1.000 minus 7 x 6. |5|’
