κακοῦται ἀστὴρ ὅταν μὴ εἰς ἁρμόζοντα τύχῃ παρὼν ἢ περιέχηται ὑπὸ κακοποιῶν ἢ κατ’ ἐναντίον ἢ ἐπιδέκατον· ὅτι ἀγαθοποιὰ ζῴδιά εἰσιν ὁ ὡροσκόπος, τὸ μεσουράνημα, ιαʹ, εʹ θεός, θεά· κακοποιὰ δὲ βʹ, δʹ ϛʹ, ζʹ, ⟨ηʹ⟩, ιβʹ

‘A planet is oppressed whenever it is present in an unsuitable (place?) or is surrounded by malefics or in a relation of opposition (to them) or being “tithed” (by them): benefic zodiac signs are the Ascendant, Midheaven, the 11th (place), the 5th, God, Goddess, and malefic ones are the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 7th, <8th,> 12th (places).’
