Τούτου δὲ ὃ μέν τι καλεῖται ἑῴα μὴ φαινομένη ἐπανατολή, ὅταν ὁ ἀστὴρ ἀρχόμενος κρύψιν ποιεῖσθαι μετὰ τὸν ἥλιον εὐθέως αὐτὸς ἀνατείλῃ, ὃ δέ τι καλεῖται ἑῴα συνανατολὴ ἀληθινή, ὅταν ὁ ἀστὴρ ἅμα καὶ κατὰ τὸ αὐτὸ γένηται τῷ ἡλίῳ ἐπὶ τοῦ πρὸς ἀνατολὰς ὁρίζοντος, ὃ δέ τι καλεῖται ἑῴα προανατολὴ φαινομένη, ὅταν ὁ ἀστὴρ ἀρχόμενος ἐπιτολὴν ποιεῖσθαι προανατείλῃ τοῦ ἡλίου.
‘And of this, one is called a dawn invisible following rising, when the star which is starting to make a disappearance is rising itself directly after the sun, and another is called a true dawn simultaneous rising, when the star comes at the same time and at the same place as the sun at the eastern horizon, and another is called a dawn visible leading rising, when the star which is starting to make a heliacal rising is rising before the sun.’
Ὅταν δὲ πλεῖον γένηται διάστημα τῶν υʹ σταδίων, προανατολαὶ καὶ προδύσεις γίνονται.
‘But when (the) interval becomes more than these 400 stadia, risings before other risings and settings before other settings happen.’
