Εὐκατανόητον δέ, ὅτι καὶ ἐπὶ τῶν συγκαταδύσεων, ἐάν εἰς τὰ προηγούμενα τοῦ Θ ἴσην τῇ ΘΕ περιφέρειαν ἀπολάβωμεν, οἷον τὴν ΘΚ, τῷ Κ σημείῳ τοῦ ἰσημερινοῦ συγκαταδύσεται ὁ ἀστὴρ διὰ τὸ καὶ τότε τήν τε κατάδυσιν ἐπ᾽ ἴσης τῇ ΒΗ περιφερείας γίνεσθαι καὶ ἴσην γωνίαν εἰς τὰ προηγούμενα τοῦ μεσημβρινοῦ πάλιν ἀπολαμβάνεσθαι τῇ κατὰ τοῦτο τὸ σχῆμα εἰς τὰ ἑπόμενα ὑπὸ τῶν ΑΖ καὶ ΖΘ περιεχομένῃ.
‘And it is easy to observe, that also for the simultaneous settings, if we would take from Θ to the forward points an arc equal to ΘΕ, namely ΘΚ, the star would set simultaneously with point K of the equator due both to the setting then taking place on an arc equal to ΒΗ and to it cutting off an equal angle, to the forward points from the meridian in turn, to what is being encompassed in this figure to the backward points by the [arcs] ΑΖ and ΖΘ.’
