Τοῦ δὲ κόσμου σφαιροειδοῦς ὑπάρχοντος ἄξων καλεῖται ἡ διάμετρος τοῦ κόσμου, περὶ ἣν στρέφεται ὁ κόσμος. Τὰ δὲ πέρατα τοῦ ἄξονος πόλοι λέγονται τοῦ κόσμου.
