पूर्वार्धमोजेषु गृहेषु सौर्यं तेष्वेव पश्चार्धमुशन्ति चान्द्रम् । युग्मेषु पूर्वार्धविभुः शशाङ्कः पश्चार्धनाथो दिनकृत् समेषु ॥३१॥

pūrvārdhamojeṣu gṛheṣu sauryaṃ teṣveva paścārdhamuśanti cāndram | yugmeṣu pūrvārdhavibhuḥ śaśāṅkaḥ paścārdhanātho dinakṛt sameṣu ||31||

‘In the odd signs the Sun governs the first half, and the Moon governs the second half of each house (sign). Among the even signs the Moon rules the first half, and the Sun rules the latter half’
