Μεγάλη δέ ἐστι διαφορὰ ἀνατολῆς καὶ ἐπιτολῆς. Ἀνατολὴ μὲν γάρ ἐστιν ἡ προειρημένη, ἐπιτολὴ δὲ ἡ γινομένη πρὸς τὸν ὁρίζοντα φάσις μετὰ τῆς πρὸς τὸν ἥλιον ἀποστάσεως ἀπολαμβανομένη.
‘And there is a big difference between a (diurnal) rising and a (heliacal) rising. For a (diurnal) rising is the aforementioned, but a (heliacal) rising is the appearance happening at the horizon that is being taken together with the distance to the sun.’
